What is Androgenic Alopecia?

Androgenic alopecia is a known form of hair loss in women, men, chimpanzee’s and even orangutans and were men are concerned it is also referred to as male pattern baldness.

Androgenic alopecia, for men develops in the temples and begins to thin near the crown of the head. If not looked into, it could complete by making someone completely bald.

Men generally are able to find some comfort in hair transplant surgery while other men do nothing at all and end up started to like the “U-shape” developing on their head. Some men buy toupees while other men just shave their head completely bald and call it done.

For women, Androgenic alopecia develops slightly different. It thins out the head as a while and unlike with men the hairline never starts to recede and can rarely every lead to full baldness.

Women generally try every kind of miracle cure they can get their hands on to help with a bald spot. They try shampoos, creams, old witch remedies, herbal treatments, prescriptions and even the power or prayer. When none of those work they then look into hair transplants. Hair transplants for women however are very hard to find because a woman loses her hair in every direction which means there is hardly any ability to pull hair from a certain area with balding that area altogether.

There are some hair transplant surgeries however that can help women find some comfort. If you have found yourself starting to go bald, the best thing to do is contact your doctor to help find a reason for it. Sometimes having few bald spots does not mean you have Androgenic alopecia, it may just mean you need to eat healthier or switch shampoos. So always talk to your doctor before making any rash decisions.
